தமிழியல் என்பது தமிழ் மொழி, இலக்கியம், பண்பாடு, வரலாறு மற்றும் அவற்றுடன் தொடர்புடைய பல்துறை ஆய்வுத் துறைகளை மையமாகக் கொண்ட பன்னாட்டு அறிவியல் ஆய்விதழாகும்.
அசல் ஆய்வுகளை வெளிப்படையானதும் அறிவியல் தரம் வாய்ந்ததுமான ஆசிரியர் மற்றும் நடுவர் மதிப்பீட்டு நடைமுறையின் வழியாக வெளியிடுவதற்கான ஆய்வுத் தளமாக இவ்விதழ் செயல்படுகிறது.
